MEET THE ARTIST
Tanea Somerville
Tanea Ann Designs started as a small local jewelry business in Longmont, Colorado. Tanea started this business to expand her skills in jewelry making and marketing her work. She has been creating and selling her jewelry since age 12 and has continued to design through her time in college. As time passed, Tanea Ann Designs became a united front for multiple creative outlets to combine Tanea's small business with her budding interior design career. The title has come to be a representation of her creativity in many forms, most of which can be found on this website! In her jewelry, she mainly use wire to create the whimsical designs you see on this website. However, you will also notice she uses metalsmithing in various designs, as she is introducing new techniques to her repertoire. Over the years, Tanea has branched out to artistic mediums outside of jewelry making. Through her time in high school and college, she developed a love for painting as another creative outlet. Tanea started painting in acrylics in high school and later began experimenting with simple watercolor paintings that she later developed into a series of fun and bright stationary cards. At the end of her college years, Tanea's grandmother gifted her a sewing machine as another method of creativity. Tanea learned to sew and knit as a child and began to enhance her creative skills through new techniques of making fabric goods in a fun and modern way.Today, Tanea still works in a a wide variety of mediums and has added texture painting and murals to her list of skills. She has found a love for painting on a larger scale and creating more statement pieces to pull a space together!
